MAN: PROTECTORS OR DESTROYERS ?

We claim we have the most powerful and insightful brains on earth than all others species. Yet we throw rubbish away indiscriminately, cut down the trees we never planted, making the environment we live unsafe for ourselves. So I ask, which other Species does this?

We destroy our own forests for benefits?! Yet we want to get close to nature. We clear virgin lands so that we can build parks and ‘stories’, yet we want to get close to nature. We harvest and kill all sought of game animals in the world, yet we want to have the Era of Adam and Eve back! So I ask, who does that?

We pollute our surroundings with various degrees of plastics, human excreta and so many harmful chemicals, yet we pay huge amounts of money to watch fishes away from home “so that we can feel close to nature”.

Are we the protectors or destroyers of the environment?

We are always prompted to give opinions and suggestions about issues we’ve caused ourselves ranging from ozone depletion, global warming deforestation and flooding. I remember how after the June 3 disaster, we hear people from all fields giving very insightful and perhaps perfect opinions and solutions as to the cause and solution of the menace. We hear ministers and government appointees giving all sought of remarks and then all die after a month. How many of us really practiced our opinions. What is even most worrying is that we don’t accept responsibility for causing this then we start the blame game!

We are so much and entangled and busy with our lives that we least notice the change ongoing around us. Climatic conditions have started changing with almost about 10-20 days delay in raining seasons!  When it gets to the point where we have no rains, where do we go?

It’s time we get we get involved and act as agents of change before it’s too late.

BECAUSE IF WE DON’T TAKE CARE A TIME WILL COME WHEN HUMANS WILL BE COUNTED AMONG THE LIST OF ENDANGERED SPECIES!
